But although Earth transformed into a borderless mountain of garbage, it is not yet entirely depopulated. Wall-E is the only robot of its kind still to be functioning, whose task is to clean the mess people left behind.
Having developed sentience, Wall-E, which stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter — Earth-Class, has become intelligent enough to scrap pieces from other robots in order to keep himself running. The adventure launches when Wall-E finds a healthy seedling, later to nurture it to become a plant.
On usual days, Wall-E goes around the Earth covered in trash and collects small trophies. He stores these trophies at home — having a collection that includes various toys and a bird cage. Wall-E has a rather interesting evaluation of what is valuable among the rubbish he collects, thus indirectly questioning viewers and players of our current values and way of life.
